7-year-old boy bitten by shark August 21, 2007
This event occured the day after we left…
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. –A 7-year-old boy in waist-deep water was bitten on his calf by a shark, an official said Monday.
The injury was not life-threatening and the boy was in stable condition
Sunday when taken to the hospital, Horry County Fire Rescue Capt. Todd
Cartner said.
The boy was in the water near the Lakewood Campground, Cartner said. He did not know the boy’s name and did not immediately have any other details.
Earlier this month, the waters off Isle of Palms were closed after a man and a 9-year-old boy reported shark bites within hours of each other while swimming about four miles apart. Both were treated at hospitals.

I just looked it up. Lakewood Campground borders Ocean Lakes. Less than 1/2 mile away. Essentially the same exact beach.

It is about time someone believes me. I think mom feels mighty bad about telling me to stop doing the “O” word now.
